We completed the installation of QGM QT6 automatic concrete block brick machine in Nekemte on 2023.01.04. After 2 years civil war and COVID-19, Nekemte no longer have the thriving scene of the past. Now, Ethiopia back to peace, war years have been passed. The government changes the work focus to economy development and construction. With the support of Ethiopia Bank, Mr. Alemu’s project established in Nekemte successfully and start to work now. In the past 40 years, QGM ZENITH supplied hundreds of block machines to Africa for supporting the local construction. Especially in Ethiopia, we supplied machines to Addis Ababa, Sodo, Bahir Dar, Dessie, Jijiga.etc. From south to north, from west to east. QGM ZENITH equipment has covered the total Ethiopia. And now, QGM ZENITH is the first brand that local bank recommend customer to choose.
Regarding to Mr. Alemu, he has small business in Nekemte. And last year, he finds that hollow concrete block is demand urgently in Nekemte even in total Ethiopia. So he contact with local bank and plan to establish block making project for changing the block urgently demand situation and get profit. Luckily, Mr. Abel, the professional staff from local bank, also thinks block making project is important for Nekemte’s reconstruction after war. And we discussed over 3 months for confirming the best solution. Finally, Mr. Alemu choose QGM QT6 automatic concrete block making machine, which is most popular in Ethiopia currently.
The QT6 production line can produce hollow block, solid brick, paver and curbstone. Based on currently market situation in Ethiopia, Mr. Alemu make hollow block as his main product. And he chose 20cm, 15cm and 10cm hollow block mould, which is the most common and popular block type in Ethiopia construction materials market.
As for the raw materials, Mr. Alemu choose Pumice like most of our customers in Ethiopia. Pumice is cheaper than crushed stone and have great performance in block making. It also a common materials which can be seen all around Ethiopia.
Except Pumice, we also recommend our customer add proper amount of sand to make the block more stronger and higher quality.
Alemu’s project adopt raw materials infeed manually. Although the efference will be lower, but it’s the most economical solution and suitable for Ethiopia real situation. You also can add a batcher to distribute the raw materials automatically. Then you will also need a 3T wheel loader for the batcher.
In 2022 December, we sent our engineer Mr. Yang to Alemu’s factory for installation and commissioning his machine. Also training operators for Mr.Alemu. With the guidance of Mr .Yang, Alemu’s engineer install and operate the machine well.
After completed the installation, Mr.Yang start the machine and guide local engineers to make block. And Alemu was surprised by the high-quality block made by QGM machine. Generally, the price of block made by QGM machine will at least 10% higher than others.
Finally, Mr. Alemu and Abel thanks Mr. Yang for his effort. And they give Mr. Yang their native clothes.
All in all, 2019-2022 is cold winter for Ethiopia’s market, even to global economy. And now, 2023 is comes. We do belief 2023 is a new beginning for new global economic prosperity. And we will supply more and more machine for supporting the construction after-war to Ethiopia.
