University and Enterprise Join Hands to Build Bridges, Embarking on a New Journey in Cross-border Talent Development

— Fuzhou University of Foreign Studies and Trade and Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd. Sign Agreement and Award Overseas Employment and Internship Base

Recently, a delegation of faculty and students from Fuzhou University of Foreign Studies and Trade visited Fujian Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd.") for in-depth exchanges.  The two parties officially signed a school-enterprise cooperation agreement and held a ceremony to award the overseas employment and internship base. This cooperation marks a new stage in cross-border industry-education integration for the university, aligning with its "local, applied, and international" educational positioning. It also injects new impetus from university talent into Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd.'s global business expansion, writing a new chapter in collaborative talent development between the university and the enterprise.

As a leading applied university in Fujian Province, Fuzhou University of Foreign Studies and Trade focuses on its "Foreign Language Plus" characteristics, building a coordinated development pattern across multiple disciplines including economics, management, engineering, and humanities. It boasts four national-level first-class professional construction programs, and 33.91% of its faculty have overseas experience, accumulating profound expertise in international talent cultivation. Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd., a high-tech enterprise with over forty years of experience in the industry, adheres to the philosophy of "German technology + Chinese manufacturing + global service," with over 35 service outlets worldwide and business covering Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and other regions.  It has participated in major international projects such as the new administrative capital of Egypt and the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway, and has an urgent need for international talents with both professional skills and cross-cultural communication abilities. The two parties' core needs in "talent cultivation" and "talent utilization" are highly aligned, laying a solid foundation for cooperation.

At the awarding ceremony, representatives from both the university and the enterprise reached a consensus on issues such as joint development of talent training programs, arrangements for overseas internships and training, and faculty exchange programs. According to the agreement, the base will establish a comprehensive talent development model encompassing "curriculum alignment + overseas practical training + employment integration": the university will optimize its curriculum system for international business, foreign languages, and mechanical engineering based on the overseas business needs of Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd., strengthening practical cross-border business skills and language application abilities; the company, leveraging its global service network, will provide students with paid internships, corporate mentor guidance, and a fast track to overseas employment. Internship areas will cover key positions such as international marketing, technical support, and cross-cultural coordination, achieving a "seamless transition" from campus to the international workplace.

The establishment of this overseas employment and internship base not only provides students with a high-quality platform to broaden their international horizons but also imbues their practical training with profound industrial value and a global dimension. Students will deeply participate in Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd.'s overseas project operations, honing their professional skills in real-world international business scenarios, improving their cross-cultural communication and problem-solving abilities, and developing into well-rounded talents with both a Chinese perspective and global competence. At the same time, this cooperation provides a practical example for the university to explore a new model of "going global with enterprises and integrating industry and education," promoting the precise alignment of teaching content with industry standards and international demands through complementary resources between the university and the enterprise, further improving the quality of applied talent training.

A representative from Fuzhou University of Foreign Studies and Trade stated that the university will use this cooperation as an opportunity to continuously deepen cross-border industry-education integration, allowing more students to "go out" through the company's overseas platform, accumulating experience and showcasing their talents on the international stage. A representative from Quangong Machinery Co., Ltd. also emphasized that they will fully support the construction of the internship base, providing students with a high-quality practical environment and development space, achieving "joint talent cultivation, shared results, and mutual benefit."

This collaboration between the university and the enterprise is both a vivid practice of responding to the national strategy of industry-education integration and an inevitable choice for the coordinated development of education and industry in the context of globalization. In the future, as the cooperation deepens, the overseas employment and internship base will become an important cradle for cultivating international applied talents, injecting lasting momentum into the high-quality development of both the university and the enterprise, and building a talent bridge for Sino-foreign economic, trade, and cultural exchanges.
